How unfortunate that your bicycle has been stolen. Unfortunately, this can happen. Follow the steps below to make the process as smooth as possible.
Step 1: Report to the police:
- First, report the theft to the police.
- Make sure you have both original keys in your possession.
- Have the frame number recorded in the official report. You can find this number through our platform.
IMPORTANT: The police report must list VWPFS (Volkswagen Pon Financial Services/the leasing company) as the insurance company and owner of the bike. You are not the owner yourself, nor is Lease a Bike. If VWPFS is not listed as the owner in the police report, the bicycle shop will unfortunately be unable to process the theft, and the police report must be amended.

Step 2: Fill in the theft form:
- Go to your Lease a Bike bicycle shop (find affiliated bicycle shops here) to fill in a theft form together. This is a digital form that the bicycle shop can find on the platform.
- The bicycle shop will then request a new bike for you. In the meantime, if possible, you will receive a comparable loan bike for a maximum of seven days. Your contract will continue as usual.
Insurance and excess: All bikes are insured against all risks.

If your bike is stolen, you will receive a new, similar bike at a maximum of the same price within the existing lease contract. Do you have a speed pedelec lease bike? Then it is necessary that the police report states that it is a speed pedelec vehicle. Also, mention the license plate.
